Dehradun: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami celebrated his birthday with the visually impaired children by cutting a cake.
He celebrated his birthday at the National Drishti Divyangjan Empowerment Institute located at Rajpur Road.
On the occasion, he fed cake to the children and wished them a bright future. The blind children of Higher Secondary Adarsh Vidyalay were gifted a model made by them to the chief minister.
Dhami said, "I always wait to come here among the children on this day and it feels very good to come here. I pray to God for the bright future of all you children. I have full faith that in the future, whatever field you all go to, you will definitely get success in your chosen endeavour. There is no such work that you people cannot do."
He further added that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is striving for the all-round development of Divyang children. The word Divyang has also been coined by Modi ji. Dhami said, "the best wishes of the entire country and the state are with you."
The chief minister said that the state is grappling with disaster at many places and requested the people to reach out to those suffering by helping them in every possible way.
Pushkar Dhami said, "The Prime minister has envisioned the third decade of the 21st century as the decade of Uttarakhand and we are all working with our full might to make it a reality."
The specially abled children also sang a song from a Bollywood movie on the occasion.
Dhami said, "Every year I make it a point to come to visit these children on my birthday and these kids are special in every way. I owe my appreciation to the institute people for helping these children in living a life of respect."
On his birthday, the Chief Minister also inaugurated a football tournament at the institute. Earlier, UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday greeted Pushkar Dhami on his birthday and wished for his long life. PM Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah also extended their heartfelt wishes.
