Three caught "buying" Hyderabad TRS MLAs

Hyderabad (The Hawk): In a shocking turn of events, the Hyderabad police reported on Wednesday that they had apprehended three suspects as they attempted to "purchase" four MLAs from the TRS party, which is currently in power in Telangana.

The four were detained while trying to give money to four MLAs during a raid at a farmhouse in Aziz Nagar on the outskirts of the city.

Police in Cyberabad carried out the operations after receiving a tip from the lawmakers. Two others were from Hyderabad, while the other two were from Tirupati and Delhi.

So far, the cops are said to have confiscated Rs 15 crore. The agreement could be worth up to Rs 100 crore, according to Stephen Ravindra, the commissioner of the Cyberabad Police.

Rega Kantha Rao, Guvvala Balaraju, Beeram Harshvardhan Reddy, and Pilot Rohit Reddy, all Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) MLAs, had informed the police that attempts were being made to entice them to change sides.

According to the Commissioner, the MLAs claimed that some BJP leaders were attempting to persuade them to leave the TRS by promising them high-profile jobs, lucrative contracts, and large sums of money.

Simhayajulu and Ramachandra Bharati, both allegedly temple priests from Tirupati and Delhi, as well as Nanda Kumar, a businessman from Hyderabad who is rumoured to be linked to a union minister, are among those held.

Police officials stated that the situation was still being investigated.

The BJP is allegedly enticing the TRS's MLAs to defect, according to the TRS. Those apprehended by the police, according to the report, were linked to BJP officials.

TRS politician Krishank Manne shared images of the accused alongside Union ministers Rajnath Singh, G. Kishan Reddy, and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on his Twitter account.

He tweeted, "This is a conspiracy by the big leaders of the BJP against KCR ji's Government."

Another TRS politician referred to the three accused as Amit Shah, the union home ministeragents. ,'s

The BJP, according to TRS MLA Balka Suman, is using dishonest strategies out of concern about losing the Munugode Assembly by-election. He asserted that the BJP plan was thwarted by the TRS MLAs.

"The TRS MLAs and the people of Telangana are not for sale," he remarked, addressing BJP leaders.

BJP officials, however, refuted the accusations. Those mentioned by the police, according to D. K. Aruna, party national vice-president, are not BJP officials. She claimed that in order to gain political advantage, Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao was acting in a brand-new drama. People wouldn't trust KCR's story, she predicted.
