Hyderabad (The Hawk): Malla Reddy, the minister of labour and employment for Telangana, claimed on Wednesday that the Income Tax (I-T) raids on his property were being carried out by the BJP government at the Centre out of "political vendetta."
The Minister criticised the Central government for what he called a plot to target Malla Reddy and his family members as the I-T Department carried out searches at their offices and homes for a second day.
He told reporters that CRPF members also treated his son with a lack of respect "Because I am a minister in the TRS government, all of this is taking place. All of this is being done on purpose to harm the KCR government ".
Mahender Reddy, Malla Reddy's older son, was taken to the hospital due to chest trouble.
The minister claimed that his son became unwell as a result of harassment directed at him.
"A person harassed my older son. He means business. I am visiting a hospital "said he.
The Minister was accompanied by I-T representatives when he travelled to the Suraram hospital.
He further said that 200 employees were being used by the Narendra Modi administration at the centre to carry out the ongoing raids.
"Are we burglars? Are we operating casinos or engaging in smuggling?" He questioned and claimed that his family and he spent many years working hard to build the institutions.
Additionally, Malla Reddy asserted that by offering them engineering and MBA seats at a reduced rate, the educational institutions he oversees are assisting students from low-income families.
Outside the Minister's Bowenpally home, a sizable group of TRS workers and supporters sang anti-Centre chants.
