Hamirpur: Union Minister Anurag Thakur on Tuesday urged Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu to ensure that law and order in the state does not collapse "like in Punjab".
Reporters on the fringes of an event heard Thakur describe the Manikaran clash as "awful," adding that Sukhu "should tread carefully" in light of the additional duty he is taking on. According to reports from Monday, four individuals were hurt as pilgrims from neighboring Punjab clashed with local residents during a fair in Manikaran town.
The law and order situation, according to Thakur, has deteriorated in neighboring Punjab, and he warned that it could spread to Himachal Pradesh if Sukhu did not pay attention.—Inputsfrom Agencies
