San Francisco (The Hawk): Netflix has launched a 'Profile Transfer' option to prevent password sharing, which has been handed out to all members worldwide.
According to the firm, the "highly sought" feature allows users to transfer their personalised recommendations, watching history, My List, saved games, and other preferences to a new account when they begin their own membership.
Users will be notified via email when the 'Profile Transfer' feature becomes available on their account.
Meanwhile, in an effort to create an ad-supported tier for its consumers, the firm stated that the 'Basic With Ads' streaming plan will be available in numerous regions beginning November 3rd.
"The strategy represents an intriguing potential for advertisers," said Greg Peters, Chief Operating Officer and Chief Product Officer, in a statement.
Ads will run for 15 or 30 seconds before and throughout performances and films at the start.
"Advertisers will also be able to block their ads from appearing on content that is inconsistent with their brand," according to the business.
