New Delhi: Off the coast of Odisha, India successfully tested an endo-atmospheric interceptor missile for the first time.
Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) and Indian Navy performed the missile test on Friday.
The Indian Ministry of Defence claimed on Saturday that the trial's goal was to "engage and neutralise a hostile ballistic missile threat," making India one of a select group of countries with naval ballistic missile defence capability.—Inputs from Agencies
