BBC's IT "survey" ended after nearly 60 hours; firm says it will cooperate with authorities

New Delhi: After over 60 hours of "surveys," the Income Tax department left BBC's headquarters on Thursday, taking with them an inventory of financial data from select employees and cloned electronic data.

An operation that began at BBC offices in Delhi and Mumbai at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday reportedly concluded shortly after 10 p.m. on Thursday. Officials told PTI that the three-day survey activity lasted roughly 57-58 hours, during which time tax authorities made and took an inventory of the available goods, recorded the statement of some staff members, and impounded some papers.
