"Governor third-class," Chhatrapati's enraged descendant slams Koshyari

Mumbai (The Hawk): Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari was attacked harshly on Monday by Chhatrapati Udayanraje Bhosale, who called him "third class" and suggested he be sent to an old-age facility.

The 13th direct descendant of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, Bhosale, also criticised Sudhanshu Trivedi, an MP and spokesperson for the Bharatiya Janata Party, for his comments regarding the legendary Maratha warrior king.

Trivedi reportedly asserted that Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj had apologised to Emperor Aurangzeb five times, despite the Governor referring to him as a "symbol of the previous age."

Asserting that "perversion has no party or caste, and such perverted persons should be expelled out of their parties," Bhosale remarked, addressing both.

"The Governor ought to be expelled from Raj Bhavan and dumped somewhere. He ought to leave because he has been sitting there for a while. He should be fired immediately and sent to an old-age home because he is "third-class," "Bhosale, furious, said.

The Chhatrapati scion added that the Governor is old and doesn't understand what he's talking about, hinting at additional disturbance.

Other groups, including the Sambhaji Brigade, Maratha Kranti Morcha, Jijau Brigade, and Chhatrapati Udayanraje Bhosale and Chhatrapati Sambhaji Raje, direct descendants of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, have also harshly criticised the governor for his comments.

The Governor caused a stir in the state's political circles when, during a gathering in Aurangabad, he referred to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj as "an icon of the old times" before referring to the late Dr. B. R. Ambedkar and the present Union Minister Nitin Gadkari as "modern-day icons."

The governor added in his speech: "When asked who your icon is, the traditional responses were Jawaharlal Nehru, Subhash Chandra Bose, or Mahatma Gandhi. But you don't have to look very far in Maharashtra... Here, there are a lot of icons. While Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj was (an symbol) of the past, Ambedkar and Nitin Gadkari are (icons) of the present."
