New Delhi: Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman assured the public on Saturday that the government was not in a "mad rush" to sell everything and that it will maintain a presence in four vital sectors, one of which is telecom.

Only the holding company level of existing public sector commercial firms would be preserved under government supervision in crucial sectors. There will be a review of all surviving strategic sector companies to see whether they should be privatised, merged with another PSE, or shut down.
