Mumbai: Actors Akshay Kumar and Arshad Warsi on Thursday announced that production has commenced on the third installment of the courtroom comedy franchise Jolly LLB.
Warsi played the role of Jagdish Tyagi aka Jolly in 2013's Jolly LLB and Kumar starred in the 2017 sequel, titled Jolly LLB 2, as Jagdishwar Mishra.
The two actors are reprising their roles in the third part along with seasoned actor Saurabh Shukla, who essayed the role of Justice Sunderlal Tripathi in the earlier two movies.  "Ab original kaun aur duplicate kaun, yeh toh pata nahi. But this sure is going to be a jolly good ride !! Stay with us. Jai Mahakaal. #JollyLLB3," Warsi and Kumar posted on their Instagram pages along with an announcement teaser that also featured Shukla.

Singham Again is the third installment of the hit franchise and the film is all set to be released in theatres on the occasion of Independence Day 2024. Ajay-starrer Singham was released in 2011, starring Kajal Aggarwal and Prakash Raj, followed by Singham Returns in 2014. Deepika also has 'Kalki 2898 AD' in her kitty. The film will be released on June 27. The sci-fi flick is directed by Nag Ashwin. On April 21, makers shared the teaser of Amitabh Bachchan's look from the sci-fi dystopian film during the thrilling Indian Premier League (IPL) match between Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). The 21-second teaser started with Big B marking presence in warm earthy tones. He was seated in a cave, engaged in prayer to a Shiva linga. He was covered with bandages.In the brief clip, one can also see a young kid asking Big B, 'Kya tum bhagwan ho, kya tum marr nahi sakte? Tum Bhagwan ho? Kaun ho Tum?To which his character replied, "Dwapar yug se Dash avatar ki pratiksha kar raha hoon main, Dronacharya ka putra Ashwatthama." (Since the Dwapar Yug, I have waited for the Dasavatar.) Mumbai: Days after a deepfake video of him promoting political views went viral on social media, 'Padmaavat' actor Ranveer Singh has taken decisive action by lodging a complaint with Mumbai police against those responsible for its creation. Amid the ongoing Lok Sabha elections, the 'Padmaavat' actor fell prey to deepfake menace after his video surfaced online in which he was purportedly heard voicing his political views.
However, it turned out that the video was made using an artificial intelligence (AI) voice clone of the actor. The video, from the actor's recent visit to Varanasi, appears genuine but uses an AI-synthesized voice clone of Ranveer. Ranveer filed a complaint with Mumbai Police's Cyber Crime Cell, confirmed an official on Monday. His spokesperson issued a statement, confirming the filing of an FIR: "Yes, we have filed the police complaint, and an FIR has been lodged against the handle promoting the AI-generated deepfake video of Mr. Ranveer Singh."

After the AI-generated video went viral on social media platforms, Ranveer took to his Instagram Story on Friday (April 19) and dropped a post in which he wrote, "Deepfake se bacho doston (Friends, beware of deepfakes)."  Previously, a deepfake video of actor Aamir Khan promoting a political party had gone viral. "We want to clarify that Aamir Khan has never endorsed any political party throughout his 35-year career. He has dedicated his efforts to raising awareness through Election Commission public awareness campaigns for many past elections," Aamir's spokesperson clarified in a statement. Many celebrities have expressed concerns about the misuse of deepfake technology. Last year, a morphed video of actor Rashmika Mandanna circulated online, prompting her to clarify its falseness.  Many celebrities came out in support of Rashmika including megastar Amitabh Bachchan, who shared a tweet calling for the 'urgent need for a legal and regulatory framework to deal with deepfake in India.' Reacting to the tweet, the veteran actor, who worked with Rashmika in her first Hindi film Goodbye (2022), shared the video and wrote, "Yes, this is a strong case for legal."

Mumbai: No one was injured in the shooting incident that took place outside Bollywood superstar Salman Khan's residence on Sunday morning, police said. DCP Mumbai, Raj Tilak Roushan, told ANI, "Today at around 5 am, two unidentified people opened fire outside the house of actor Salman Khan in Bandra. Police have received information about 3 rounds of firing."
"A case has been registered and an investigation is underway in the case. No one was injured in the firing incident," he added. Earlier on Sunday morning, two unidentified persons opened fire outside the house of Salman in Mumbai's Bandra at around 5 am.

Mumbai: Actor Ajay Devgn's most anticipated project, 'Maidaan' is just around the corner. The trailer of the film has already excited the fans and now they are eagerly waiting for its release. 'Maidaan', directed by Amit Ravindernath Sharma, is based on a true story. Ajay Devgn stars as Syed Abdul Rahim, who dedicated his life to football and brought enormous glory to India.
Ahead of the release of his film, Ajay has taken out some time out of his busy schedule to enjoy a cricket session with former Indian cricketer Harbhajan Singh. Taking to his Instagram handle, he posted a series of pictures in which he can be seen bowling and batting. In one of the pictures, Harbhajan can also be seen along with him. Another photo shows, Ajay and and his 'Maidaan' co-star Priyamani promoting their film on a TV show and enjoying some fun moments with Mohammad Kaif and Harbhajan. He captioned it, "At another #Maidaan today, but the passion remains the same!"

Mumbai: Actors Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh and Arjun Kapoor will feature in the follow-up to the hit comedy No Entry, producer Boney Kapoor confirmed.
Anees Bazmee, who helmed the 2005 film, featuring Salman Khan, Anil Kapoor, and Fardeen Khan, is returning for the sequel.  The original stars won't feature in the new movie, said Boney Kapoor, adding the team is now in the process of casting 10 female actors for the project.
"That chapter is over (of the old star cast). Now, we have Diljit, Varun and Arjun in the film. Varun and Arjun are best of friends, and Diljit is fantastic at comedy. So, I think this makes for a good and interesting combination," the producer told PTI.  “While, the male actors and Bazmee are locked but the 10 female leads are yet to be cast in the film,” he added.

 No Entry revolved around two married men (Anil Kapoor and Fardeen Khan), who find themselves in trouble because of their womanizing friend, Prem (Salman), after he sets them up with a hooker, leading to lies and confusions.  Actors Lara Dutta, Esha Deol and Celina Jaitly played the female leads in the first part with Bipasha Basu in an extended cameo appearance.  In January, there were unconfirmed media reports, stating that Dhawan, Arjun Kapoor and Dosanjh will feature in the sequel.  No Entry 2 will go on floors in December, added the producer, who is awaiting the release of his upcoming production “Maidaan”, starring Ajay Devgn. It is set to be released in theatres on April 10.  Boney Kapoor also gave an update about the sequel to the classic 1987 movie Mr India, which featured Anil Kapoor and Sridevi. It was directed by Shekhar Kapur.  One of the first sci-fi movies in Hindi cinema, the film was about a man who discovers the formula to become invisible and uses its powers to fight evil forces.  The filmmaker-producer said he is in talks with a Hollywood studio for No Entry 2.  “That (Mr India 2) also will happen, maybe as soon as No Entry 2 is out. I have been approached by a big Hollywood studio to do Mr. India. So, it’s Zee (Studios), me and the (Hollywood) studio,” he claimed.  In 2020, Zee Studios had announced they have signed director Ali Abbas Zafar to helm a Mr India trilogy, a re-imagining of the popular film.

Mumbai: Heist comedy Crew, starring Tabu, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Kriti Sanon, has grossed Rs 20.07 crore globally on its opening day at the box office, the makers said on Saturday.
Directed by Rajesh A Krishnan, the film was released in theatres across the country on Friday. It is produced by Anil Kapoor, Rhea Kapoor, Ektaa Kapoor and Shobha Kapoor.  According to the makers, the film has set a record by registering the "highest-ever opening for a three-female lead film worldwide." The film's net collection in India is Rs 10.28 crore.
In a post on Instagram, producer Ektaa R Kapoor wrote, "Thanku INDIA !!!! My girls n our director showed d world how it’s done!!! World wide dhamaka! (sic)."  Tabu and Kriti also celebrated the day one collection of 'Crew', calling it 'historic'.  "We are overwhelmed with love for our Crew! The Biggest Female Led opener in the History of Hindi Cinema Worldwide! Crew is in Cinemas NOW," they posted on their respective Instagram pages.  Kareena said she is glad to continue her association with Rhea Kapoor and Ektaa R Kapoor with Crew. She had earlier collaborated with the two producers for her 2018 movie Veere De Weddin.  "Round 2 with @rheakapoor, @ektarkapoor and me… What started with Veere Di Wedding and now continues with 'CREW'. The images depict the bride during the ritual, along with delightful moments of her friends and family.
For the occasion, Kriti chose a neon green saree with a matching blouse, adorned with gold jewellery. She also wore her mother's duppatta and a peice of jewellery from her grandmom. The pictures also offered a detailed view of her 'kaleerah', featuring the inscription "Will you marry me?" While sharing the pictures, Kriti wrote a long caption that read, "Naani ma ka haar aur ma ki shaadi ka dupatta! The two things I was sure I was going to adorn during my Chooda ceremony even before there was a boyfriend or a proposal bachpan ka Sapna tha."
